The Amini brothers brought impressive backgrounds in medicine and technology, but successfully translating their startup idea into a successful business was still challenging. Combined with a lack of investor confidence and intense competition in the healthcare technology market, the company struggled to find steady footing post-show.
As a result, the Amini brothers struggled to attract any interest from the Sharks. Unfortunately, the Sharks weren’t impressed by their pitch and were unwilling to make an offer. They cited that ZocDoc and Sermo already existed, but failed to explain why their proposed service was necessary or how it would differ from those existing options.
Since appearing on the show, the Amini brothers have taken some time to reflect on their experience and determine what went wrong. Ultimately, they decided to focus their efforts on other ventures. Currently, they are promoting their Waist Trainer, which helps people lose weight by training the abs and core muscles. In addition, they are working on a new float tank that allows users to relax and unwind. Hopefully, their future endeavors will be more successful than their appearance on Shark Tank.
